So, you’ve determined it’s about time you get started losing a little weight, and that working out more would be a good way to start. So perhaps you’re new to working out or you haven’t been exercising in a long while. It could even seem to be a little frightening, commitment wise. But not to worry, there’s an easy way to exercse once again: walking! You absolutely must add walking into your exercise routine if it’s not already there.
You’ll be amazed how easy it is to squeeze walking into your workout program. This is not difficult if you have a dog – simply take it for at least one 10 minute plus walk every day. 10 minutes may not be that long, but over a month, or even a week, it adds up quickly. Want a bit more exercise? Take Fido for two walks every day. One thing you might consider is walking part of the way to your office building; you can make this as long as you want by simply stopping short of your workplace. Obviously, if you live don’t live anywhere close to your office, it’s not such a good idea to walk all the way there every day (but feel free to try if you think you can do it!) If you’re ofruntate enough to get merely a thirty-minute or so walk to your place of work, that’ll be an extra hour of walking every day. If you use the bus to get to your place of work, you can just try to start using a stop that’s a little farther from either end. Adding more walking into your day-to-day agenda is a cinch.
Walking is excellent for your body and overall health. The reason walking is so wonderful for your heart and at helping you get rid of extra pounds is that it is the ideal aerobic exercise. Walking is usually slow placed, so you won’t be putting stress on your joints too much, unlike running. My brother is really thin (but he eats a lot of junk food) and I asked him how he does it. He says he’s never truly thought about it, but possibly it’s because he walks quite a bit on a daily basis. At least it now adds up. Since, for a lot of us, nothing is easier than walking, we have no reason not to.
Try getting into a routine of walking each day as you’ll have a better chance of sticking to it, and with the right diet, you’ll be able to melt off the flab with no problem. As you become accustomed to walking, you’ll note that you’re definitely feeling more fit and, because it’s not that hard on you, your motivation will be enhanced as well. Before you know it, you’ll be looking forward to your regular walks and considering going on walks even more. This is great; whenever you’re ready. As soon as you’re walking at a pretty good pace and feel ready, step it up by jogging. After that, the sky’s the limit.
You really don’t have a good reason to not go out and walk even a short distance daily. You can always find time to walk around your work complex, or the block. If you can’t do that, sign up for a gym membership and get on a treadmill. There are multiple ways to skin this exercise cat.
